November Stamp Club Projects-thumb notch punch

Hi all!
Here's what the Stamp Club made this month. We used the new thumb notch punch to create a cute owl pillow box & New Year's card using the November Stamp of the Month.
Keep on reading for instructions!

Here are the pieces for the owl pillow box. I cut the pillow box from the Cricut "Art Philosophy" cartridge at 5 1/2". Eyes are 1" & 1 1/2" circles. The beak is simply a 1" square of Goldrush cardstock cut diagonally.
We used the thumb notch punch to punch out about 18 pieces to create the "feathers" from Sangria paper. Isn't he adorable?

New Year's card:

Card base is 4 1/4" x 9 1/2", black cardstock is 4" x 4 1/2", gold glitter strip is 1" x 4 1/2".
Oval is 1 1/2", champagne glass pieces are cut from the Cricut "Artistry" cartridge at 1 3/4".
Emboss "new year" in gold on oval. Stamp "happy" & banner on scrap white cardstock, cut out & mount with 3D foam tape.

Take a bite out of the black cardstock at each end, lining up the edge of the punch with the edge of the paper.

On gold glitter strip, mark the center (on the backside) & line it up in the center of the punch so it punches evenly.
Glue the glitter strip to the black cardstock, tie a ribbon around it then adhere to card base.
Add your messages, glasses & sparkles!
This could make a cute anniversary or wedding card too!
Enjoy,
